Your trainer

I'm Mark. I'm 53.

I train most mornings, and I want to help people over 40 who'd like to get back in the game. I know what it takes to stay strong when you're not in your twenties, and I know you don't have to live like a monk to do it.

Where I'm up to

I'm training to be a PT, and I'd rather you heard that from me than found it in the small print.

Gym Instructing

Anatomy, health screening, and planning and running safe gym sessions. So far it's reassuringly straightforward.

Personal Training

The full personal trainer qualification: programmes for individual clients, and the nutrition side of training.

Clients
Then

My first clients

Once I'm qualified and insured, I start with the people who registered their interest.

Why over-40s

Because I'm one

I'm the age my clients will be. I know what a stiff back on a Monday morning feels like, and what it takes to keep going with a job, a family and not much spare time. I want to help people who've been meaning to get back into shape for a while but haven't found the right way in.

Mornings

The beach at sunrise

Most days start with a run, a sea swim or a tabata session on Shoreham beach. Some days it's a bike ride up Truleigh Hill in the dark to catch the sunrise. It's much less boring than it sounds, honest.

The shirt

Say hello

If you see me running about town in the Coastline shirt, say hello. Or even better, throw me an orange, like in Rocky.

Put your name down

I'm taking names now for when I start training clients. Tell me a bit about yourself and what you'd like to work on, and you'll be first to hear when I'm ready.
